OBIEE 11G Upgrade: List of Issues

Dear All,

OBIEE 11.1.1.7 is the latest version of OBIEE. All the applications built in OBIEE 10G version, are being planned to upgrade to the latest version of OBIEE. Upgrading of  OBIEE 10G web catalog and RPD is not a cumbersome task. We can upgrade it through UA assistant. How we can upgrade OBIEE 10G RPD and webcat, we will deal it in another blog.

In this post, we will put down the list of the issues faced in OBIEE 10G upgrade to OBIEE 11G.



Decimal Issue

In 10g  the data format for some column is there for e.g  2  decimal place for amount and red with bracket for negative value which was not present in 11 g after upgrade.The data format for 2 decimal places  and negative value has been modified .

Ordering

In 10g the column containing values were sorted either in ascending and descending .The value was not sorted in ascending or descending in 11g.

Popup Display

In 11g the popup in some column  were displaying ,which was not there in 10g.There were reports in 11g where the popup was displaying even if there are a single drill.This  was solved by checking the 'do not display single popup' in the interaction of the column properties of the particular column having that issue.

Graph

In 10g the graphs showing three value on rollover where as in 11g its showing two values .The vertical axis value was not showing 'on rollover ' in the graph of 11 g as it was showing in 10g.

Logo

The image was not present in some reports in 11g  as it was in 10g.The path of the images were different.The images path in 10 g is /analytics/res/MyFinance.bmp and the image path in 11g is fmap:images/MyFinance.bmp,. It was solved by copying the images path from other reports where it was present and placing in the affected reports.
